Terms of Service — Cooking Timers

These Terms of Service govern your use of the app, website, and services (collectively, the "Service") provided by Domestic Arts LLC, DBA Cooking Timers™ and Free Cooking Timers™. By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who We Are

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3. Free and Paid Services

Cooking Timers offers both free and paid features. The cooking timers themselves are free to use without an account.

The Libraries subscription unlocks the full Cooking Timers platform, including the Recipe Box, Project Box, Inspiration Board, recipe and DIY project imports, AI-generated cover images, meal planning, smart grocery lists, smart materials lists, collections, sharing, device syncing, and other current Libraries features.

Libraries are available for $9.99 per month and include a 7-day free trial. Your subscription renews automatically each month until cancelled.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

Billing: Subscription payments are processed securely through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize the monthly subscription payment through Stripe.
Free trial: New subscribers receive a 7-day free trial. If the subscription is not cancelled before the trial ends, the monthly subscription begins automatically and the selected payment method is charged.
Renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically each month unless cancelled before the renewal date.
Cancellation: You may cancel at any time through Manage Subscription within the app. Cancellation becomes effective at the end of the current billing period, and access continues until then.
Refunds: Cooking Timers does not provide refunds for subscription charges or partial subscription periods except where required by applicable law.

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of any recipes, DIY projects, notes, uploaded files, scanned images, AI-generated cover images, and other content you save or create using the Service ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and process Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to upload or import any content you save within the Service, and that Your Content does not violate any laws or the rights of others. Do not upload content you do not have the right to use.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any illegal purpose.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure.
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
Use automated systems to access or scrape the Service without permission.
Upload malicious software, viruses, or harmful code.

We may suspend or terminate your access if we believe you are violating these rules.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, trademarks, and branding, is owned by Domestic Arts LLC and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our express permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.

Cooking timers, recipes, DIY projects, and other information provided through the Service are offered for convenience only. You are responsible for ensuring your food is cooked safely and properly, and for the safe execution of any DIY project you undertake. We are not liable for overcooked, undercooked, or unsafe food, or for any outcome of a DIY project, resulting from use of the Service.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Domestic Arts LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Domestic Arts LLC from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion, particularly if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, though provisions related to intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability limitations shall survive.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms in the app with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
